Last night I had the opportunity to attend the launch of Flori Roberts Africa, an exclusive cosmetics brand, which was held at Stuttafords. I had never heard of them before, but was very intrigued and excited to see what it was all about, as all I knew was, it was a range formulated especially for ethnic/darker skin types.
What I got to learn about them...
They are a brand that has been in existence in the US for over 50 years! All their products are alcohol free, paraben free and they do not test on animals! So far so good... these are some of the important things I look for in a brand.
Variety...
Although the full range is not available as yet in South Africa, there was a large variety of colours to choose from. A few demos were carried out and I must say the colour match was perfect, the foundations didn't look offish/greyish - we all know the dilemma of trying to find the perfect match especially if you're a chocolate girl.
Two things that stood out for me...
I liked the fact that the foundations were in a "stick" form. I tend to find the application easier and it's also easy to control the quantity of product you wish to use. Secondly the lipstick colours - yes yes & yes!
Affordability...
The products are definitely affordable, for example, R295 for the foundations, and R190 for the lipsticks (yes, I'm hoping my memory serves me right, but I know for a fact they were considerably lower that the common brands most people go for).
